I painted this scene as a quiet meeting between shelter and vastness. The small cottage glows beneath an immense, changing sky, while the dark trees stand like patient guardians around it. I wanted the intense orange horizon to feel both dramatic and comforting—the last warmth of day held close to the earth before night arrives. The deep blues and violet shadows create a sense of stillness, inviting the viewer to imagine the silence of the countryside, the path leading home, and the gentle promise of light behind the windows. For me, this painting is about finding warmth in solitude and noticing how even an ordinary house can become a place of belonging when surrounded by such an expansive world.
